Waiheke island is the most populated and second- largest island in the Hauraki Gulf of New Zealand. It's ferry terminal in Matiatia By at the Western end. Waiheke island is popular for NZ Wineries. Vine growing was introduced in the early 1980’s as a premium wine region for the production of high quality red wines based on Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Over the years, Waiheke Island has expanded its varietals to include Chardonnay, Syrah, Montepulciano, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Semillon and Viognier.

Waiheke Island is the most populated and second-largest island in the Hauraki Gulf of New Zealand after Great Barrier Island. There are lots of vineyards. It called 'island of Wine', home to a dedicated group of winegrowers who have successfully matches the maritime climate and ancient soil structures to the selection of classical grape varieties to produce red and white wines with distinctive varietal character.
Kennedy Point Vineyard
Kennedy Point Vineyard was established in 1996 by Neal Kunimura and Susan McCarthy with Bordeaux varietals and Syrah. From the beginning, the philosophy of the family owned vineyard has been to focus on producing the very best wines from the site matched with thorough attention in the vineyard and wine production. This approach was rewarded in 2009 when the Syrah 2007 won Gold & Trophy at the IWC
Mudbrick Vineyard is the one of best Vineyard in Auckland.
The first plantings at Mudbrick were in 1992 by Nick and Robyn Jones, who still own and operate the property today.
At Mudbrick, hand-picked fruit from our two Waiheke vineyards is nurtured from vine to bottle. Our wines are carefully selected from classic French varieties that particularly suit the Waiheke climate and terroir.
Hand picking, hand plunging and gentle pressing reflect in the character of our wines. We are a boutique producer and concentrate on ripening our fruit to perfection.
